Large screen, Yummy!

Roughly 70% of the surface area of the device is occupied with a large 480 x 272 LCD screen. The screen itself is in standard 16:9 format, which is used widely by the movie industry. Playing games or watching movies on the screen is a blessing. It is the first time I don't have to put my face so close to the screen until my nose almost touching it when I am playing games on a portable device.

The image quality of the display is very good. The LCD is bright, clear and sharp. The ghosting on the display is minimal, I only notice a little ghosting effect when playing some games, and it is almost unnoticeable. Playing movies on this screen is perfectly fine, I observed no ghosting at all when watching movies. As ghost effects are a subjective issue, I would think myself to be sensitive to ghosting; most people probably would not notice any ghost effects when using the device.

However, PSP has the same weakness when it comes to all LCD products. Using PSP under direct sunlight is not comfortable, the colors become kind of washed out and it's hard to read what's on the screen. Other than that, the screen is excellent when using under normal lighting conditions.
