FinePrint ... Inside the Program con't.

Fig 6. Settings Tab
The "Settings tab" presents even more options to the user for binding and gutter settings, general settings for FinePrint, and auto save options. Each of the tab settings offer you:
- the ability to print and/or close the document
- save jobs to TIFF, JPEG, BMP, text and FP formats
- open a new file
- access the program's help files
- transfer the document to pdfFactory where it can be created into a PDF document
Support
With most software products I review I formulate a moderately complex question and find the answer to that question. I then email product support (assuming it exists) and see: 1) How long it takes to receive a reply; and 2) The accuracy of the reply of that reply.
In the case of FinePrint's product support; the reply was received in less than eight hours and was not only accurate but expressed in terms that anyone could understand.
Cost
The cost of FinePrint is $49.95 but it can be purchased in combination with its sister- product pdfFactory at a substantial savings. I should be noted that you can upgrade to a one user server version of this software for an additional $13.00. As I haven't reviewed this version, I'm not sure what if any limitations it would have over the workstation version, but my guess would be few if any.
Conclusion
I find that Find Print Software has done an excellent job in producing this product as all features work as advertised. I would highly recommend it for those whose document creation tools are either limited in features or their final product will be in a more non-traditional format. I do think that most of the better word processors today offer quite a few of the features FinePrint provides but in some cases the scalability of their use is much more limited than with this package.
Where FinePrint really shines is in combination with its sister-product pdfFactory Pro. The two products together function as a slick, fully integrated package each enhancing the abilities of the other. They also function quite well separate of one another with each having a unique and totally independent purpose. I also like the fact that the user may setup multiple FinePrint printers on his/her workstation and configure each for a specific use. I have detailed the workings of pdfFactory Pro more fully in another published review here at ABX Labs.
My only real complaint is the price which seems a bit high given today's market with all the open source and shareware products available for less. All in all the product performs flawlessly and functions as advertised virtually 100% of the time. This is rare commodity in today's market place and I certainly couldn't make this same statement with regard to some of this company's competitors.
Overall I would give it a 8 out of a possible 10.
I would also like to sincerely thank Jonathan Weiner at FinePrint Software for providing me the opportunity to review this fine product.
