| 8800GTX in a ATI MB Help I am trying to replace my ATI 1950XTX crossfire setup with a single 8800GTX NVIDIA card on my ASUS A8R32 MVP Deluxe Motherboard. I uninstalled all ATI drivers using Driver Cleaner Pro in safe mode. I removed the AI cards, and then installed the 800gtx. When i boot up my computer, it boots up normally except with the usual low resolution and soforth but after about 10 or 15 seconds my screen goes either all white, or all orange and sometimes all black. I tried booting into safe mode, but that to fails. Safe mode gets stuck trying to load up default drivers, This is all on windows XP sp 2, current with all updates. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. My specs are listed below in sig, rig #1

| Re: 8800GTX in a ATI MB Help Are you connecting it via VGA or DVI? Either way Id check both of the connections because it sounds like your adapters aren't projecting the right colors to the screen.

| Re: 8800GTX in a ATI MB Help Yes, I connected both 6 pin connectors. I just reinstalled one 1950XTX card in PCI-E 2 slot and made #2 slot my first graphic option so now I have 1 ATI card and 1 Nvidia card. It allowed to me install my nvidia drivers, so I am now going to change back and remove the ATI card and see if it will allow me into windows. BRB...

| Re: 8800GTX in a ATI MB Help No good, now I got a pretty blue/Green screen after seeing my desktop for 10 seconds. Edit: I just called BFG tech support and explained my symptoms they think I have a bad card. I guess I will finally have to find out how good Newegg return service is, never had to use it before.

| Re: 8800GTX in a ATI MB Help Good News, bad news and good news. First, Neweggs return service is top notch, no problems I just got my replacement yesterday. Secondly my new card is also having the same problem as the first one, it gets to windows, I can see desktop for maybe 15 seconds and then it turns to a solid color, sometimes, green, blue, peach, white and a few others each time I reboot. Thirdly I finally figured out the cause of this. In my bios the PEG Link mode was set to auto. I set it to disabled and now my new card works as it was intended to. Hopefully if anyone has a similar issue they will see my fix here and maybe it will help them.
