| 9600 GT or 9600 GSO?? hey guys, well i read in this comparision about the two cards here and the diff. was 1. Transistor count 2. Vertex shaders 3.texture/clock 4. Pixel shader engines 5. Fill rate now i dont know about the release dates or prices either so if you could elaborate on these things as to which one is better and what it should be i'd be thankful regards, Gaurav

| Re: 9600 GT or 9600 GSO?? 1. Transistor Count is how complex a chip is in terms of transistors. 2. Vertex shaders is what used to for special effects in 3D environments. 3. The Texture/Clock is the rate at which textures are applied and rendered. (I think) 4. A Pixel Shader is a graphical function that calculates effects pixel by pixel. For example, depending on what resolution the graphical program is set to the pixels will be rendered, lit, shaded, etc. at say 30fps. 5. The Fill Rate is the number of pixels a certain card can render and write to the cards memory in a second. 9600 GT Specs Stream Processors: 64 Core Clock (MHz) : 650 MHz Shader Clock (MHz): 1625 MHz Memory Clock (MHz): 900 MHz Memory Amount: 512MB Memory Interface: 256-bit Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec): 57.6 Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec): 20.8 =VS= 9600 GSO Specs Processor Cores: 96 Core Clock (MHz): 550 MHz Shader Clock (MHz): 1375 MHz Memory Clock (MHz): 800 MHz Memory Amount: 384MB Memory Interface: 192-bit Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec): 38.4 Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec): 26.4 Looks like the 9600 GT wins. Hope this helps. ![]()

| Re: 9600 GT or 9600 GSO?? yep it has and i guess the mid range version of nvidia is good and i guess i'll go with that only but if you have other cards to suggest, i'd be glad to look in to them

| Re: 9600 GT or 9600 GSO?? yes the prices are also the concerned and also the power, while the 9600GT does go lower than a 8800 gt and that was the reason i chose it over a 8800
