Blurry Screen

My Westinghouse 22" LCD has been "blurry" a lot lately. I reset/auto adjusted it and its stays fine for about 5 minutes then it goes back to its blurry self. I dont know if its the monitor itself (might be dusty inside?) or how I have my graphics card hooked up. When I installed my 9800 GX2 (about a week ago) I wasn't too confident on the fit of the power cord from the PSU to it (tight fit) It seems to be working fine and this is why i think its the monitor itself. Do I just have to return it and get a new one? Any help greatly appreciated. THX!

I had the same monitor and took it back 2 days later. Picture looked fuzzy and didnt have a even amount of light.

Are your display settings set for the native resolution of the monitor?

Yes but not as much. I used to have an 8800GT before I build my new system.

Yep, set at 1680 x 1050 res.

I have it hooked up through a VGA cable with a DVI adapter.

So the monitor has to sample the analog input signal.

If the monitor is poorly made (or defective) the sampling frequency and the input signal can run out of phase ("loose sync") over time and therefore your screen becomes blurry.

Your screen should have a DVI input, your card should have a dvi output, so why use a vga cable to connect both?

I had the same issue with a Dell monitor. I have 2 of the same, I plugged the other one in and it was fine, no fuzziness. The monitor was a defect.

If your monitor and your graphics card both have a DVI port, connect them via a DVI cable (DVI-D, digital only) and all fuzziness should be gone (if it is because of sampling problems).
If the picture is still fuzzy, you display has a defect.

I know, I just haven't got to buying one, im thinking of returning this one anyways, any suggestions for a new one?

X-bit Labs frequently does good comprehensive reviews of monitors of various sizes. For instance, this current one addresses 22 inch TN panels:

X-bit labs - 22" Monitors Roundup: Part 2

Gamers generally go for TN types because of the faster response times (and lower cost). But keep in mind that for general purpose uses, PVA types (see some of their past reviews) provide much better viewing angle coverage and better color rendition.
