Forceware 101.70 Vista

The Guru of 3D Download Section 32bit

The Guru of 3D Download Section 64bit

Today we can bring you new Vista drivers for geForce graphics cards. The drivers in it's original form are intended for the upcoming GeForce 8600 graphics cards.

We included a modified .inf file which you can try and use as it'll make most graphis cards compatible.

This is a BETA driver, if you run into a setup error (unlikely) you can always install the old-school way; thus:

> Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Display Adapters > your graphics card > Driver > and hit Update

Then point to to directory where you extracted the files !

Again .. highly beta !

Vista Update

Vista infomed me that a new driver existed for my 8800GTX in Windows Update under "Optional"

It was the 101.70

I went ahead and downloaded and installed it through windows update----seems fine....

Changed the way the Control Panel appears----added a tree on the left----but other than that----don't see any major changes.

I'll Bench a bit and see what Iget compared to the old 100.65...

But this appears to no longer be a Beta and the real deal.....

Yeah I don't think a beta would be available through Windows Update. Still don't want Vista on my desktop yet. I get all the Vista experience I need from my lap top.

Faster

I benched the new driver a bit....

It was faster (for me) than 100.65

Went from 10816 to 11073 in 3DMark06

Over a 200 point jump-----not insignificant.....
