Hello all...I just purchased a P4S8X and was hoping to use a Leadtek A250 GeForce4 Ti4600 card with it. However, on reading the manual, it said that the board does not support 3.3v agp cards. Since the A250 is an AGP4x/AGP 2.0 card, I figured it would run at 1.5v and work just fine. But when I plugged the card in and tried to power up, the little red LED came on and the board refused to post. Is this board incompatible with this graphics card? I've noticed some of ya'll are running the P4S8X with older cards than the Ti4600, so you'd think that it would be compatible with my newer card, but the board is behaving like its not. I know my gf4 works because I was using it before in a different computer. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a problem with the board? Or is this graphics card just incompatible? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think there's one on the Leadtek, but there might be on the geforce2. I'm at work right now so I can't check it. I guess if there is a jumper on the gf2 and it still doesn't work it would tell me if the board's working or not. I'll try that out when I get home. But what I'd love to hear is that someone is running the P4S8X with a geforce4 successfully...

I'm running a Visiontek 4400ti in mine with no problems. Does your BIOS show that the AGP is set to 4X?

Cool...thanks. I actually just got confirmation from Leadtek that their card should work, and from Asus saying that the board must be defective, so I guess I get to wrangle with the resellers RMA policies. Fun. Thanks for the help everyone.

Can someone tell me what the voltage of the GF4 cards is? The manual says the card must have a steady 3.3V or the system will crash, but the MB manual says the MB is not compatible with 3.3V cards. I imagine I'm confusing two different things, so I'd be grateful to anyone who could sort me out. The AGP incompatibility warning light comes on for about a tenth of a second when I turn on the PSU, but I presume that's not not indicating a problem, only showing that the warning light still works. The light would be on steady if there was a problem, right? :confuse2: The manual says an incompatible board won't power up, but the fan appears to be running. As well, I don't get a "no-VGA card" error on booting up Can't tell if the card actually works, though, 'cause I haven't managed to get the system to boot into the GUI yet, for other reasons to annoying and dull to go into here.
