I'm running at 1600x1200, 4xaa, 8xaf, everything high. Runs brilliantly for the most part. I'll try the Bench start thing when I get home from work, I get the odd stutter when stuffs loading, but I've not had any frame rate judders, I think I'm roughly in the 60fps area. I've got vsync on. I'm getting some graphical glitch in the source test if I change the AA setting. All the shader effects look like they're covered in pink glitter! If I change AA, quit, then restart, it's fine. In-game's perfect however, no problems at all. The whole ATI vs Nvidia thing pretty pointless IMO, all the high end cards run games well, it's just "willy waving" for the most part.

I´m running ant 1280x1024 and .....hmmm... some settings.

Could someone advice me, which features are more card related (X800 Pro @ 520/520 here) and which are more PC (PIII-S 1.5 GHz with 512 MB @143 MHz here).

Greetings

Dru

why on earth would you ever want to turn v-synch off while playing a game? For benchamrking sure turn it off, so your card can render the most frames possible, but when playing a game, does it matter if your card draws 100fps, but your monitor can only show you 85? So basically if your monitor can only draw the image as many times as what the refresh rate, why not have it synched up and smooth?

When you move your mouse rapidly from left to right, up or down, the image looks "torn" like some of the graphics get left behind your movement for a second. You would know if you saw it.

Sometimes I ahve more stutter in games if I have vsync enabled, however if I don't I will find that I have stuttering. Depends what game it is.

btw, the game engine automatically scales the detail depending on what is happening.

i.e. ina fire fight the game engine automatically lowers the detail. however when walking through scenary the game engine scales up the detail because you don't need the frames per second.
