I was only able to get the core up to 398.25. Anything more resulted in rendering errors in 3DMark03. Just a 20.25 mhz jump from stock.
Sorry to hear that.

I'm not much for OCing but I wanted to see 6k 3D Mark03 scores so I OCed

You can check out my results on a quicky web page located

HERE

Good Luck!

Very nice results, Oasis. I'm green with envy

I'm having a hard time deciding on how to cool this card off in hope of getting a bit more speed...

Anyone have any tips? I'm considering a PCI card with fans mounted on it, or a water cooling system that includes a GPU cooler.

I'd like to keep the cost down, though, so I'm leaning toward the PCI card. The fan card would also have the added benefit of cooling off the Radeon's memory chips...

Thoughts?

Actually I checked it and it is 1.65V...

I am not using an o/c card. I always play on default speeds. However I o/c to see what I can get, like Oasis did.

so the card can work better with high clock rates?
higher voltage = little chance of artifacts ??
As for the CPU higher voltage makes the GPU more stable but causes more heat thus needing better cooling. But I started using higher voltage for the AGP, as a solution when I had the 7205/9700Pro combination with the well known problems. Since then I am using that by default... Haven't test it with 1.5V, perhaps it could work the same there.

Take a look here: http://www.zalman.co.kr/english/product/ZM80C-HP.htm

Great solution but needs a lot of space. Can't installed on every board. Low cost, low noise, can be mounted on other and future models

i have the GIANT II on my radeon 9800 pro 256mb.

i think its not the PCB problem before you decide to buy any vga coolers,

but its the space on your mobo, like:

will the northbridge hit the vga cooler?

i read somewhere a guy with a p4p800 has problems with his GIANT II, because his diagonal positioned northbridge above the agp port.

will that problem occur using the Zalman vga cooler?

I agree. With those huge HS this is a "small" problem.

Let me ask you something: How does GiantII fits with mem sinks? Did you have to remove them? It can fit above them? Give some more details, or photos if you could, cause I would like to get it, but I am afraid, I 'll have to remove mem sinks.

Forget what I said... I found a review in German. I don't understand what it says, but has pictures and diagrams, so I was able to see, that it fits with mem sinks installed.

The only concern right now, is if it can fit in Abit IC7-G Max2 or Max3 (I am getting the new NB HSF).

PS: Here is the review if you want it: http://www.silenthardware.de/viewarticle49.html

I am also on 1.7V in the Bios....otherwise I can't clock anything higher than 400 Core

But I have two blowers in the side-panel blowing fresh air over my Video-card.

I think because I am overclocking P4 2.4C----3.2 with tight Ram timings.

Thanks, Wizard, I'll look into that. Don't know if it'll work with my P4P800 Deluxe mobo, though. The big northbridge heatsink might get in the way. I'll have to ask Zalman, I guess.

Looks like a great solution.
