I bought a new card then someone told me about this better card after I ordered it

this card I bought Newegg.com - BFG Tech BFGR7950512GTOCE GeForce 7950GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 OC Video Card - Retail
Someone said this will own my new card *** :/ Newegg.com - EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail .
Is there a special feature of the card I bought? I hope so; I think its already nextdoor. Just got a package waiting for them to get home.

This would be my choice.

The first thing that caught my eye was that there are no heat sinks on the memory of the BFG Tech card.

Also the EVGA card is Direct10 ready and the BFG is only Direct9. Do a side by side comparison on the specs and you will see that over all which one will be better for you.

I just put the EVGA in a system build today as a matter of fact. It's awesome! Two thumbs up. Might be worth calling newegg and begging for a no-restock return.

Yeah go with the dx10 card if you can swing it some how. Maybe put the other card in another pc in your house or sell it, if newegg won't take it back. good luck! (:

I opened the bfg box :(

A techy friend in a tech yahoo room who seems to be pretty knowledgable with windows told me about it and just yesterday it came in the mail and I opened the BFG card box and tryed to fit it but seems its PCI Express and for my motherboard needs to be PCIX. Its p8sc8 mobo*. My Dad will look at the office and see if theres an extra server mobo* that will use PCI E. At any rate I think I will use the BFG card. I trust his judgment and believe this card has a wellknown track record unlike the other card (and I got it in the mail and opened the box; lolol).

I saw the benchmarks of those two cards here before opening the box; VGA Charts 2007 | Tom's Hardware

I'm really not trying to be rude here, but why did you ask us if you are going to listen to some guy in a chat room?

In my opinion.. the 8800 is a better deal all around, performance and you get dx10. I think most poeple here would agree with me. If i had the oppurtunity to get the 8800 instead by returning the bfg or whatever... id be all over that like white on rice! (:

In your opinion and in reality. That G80 will mop the floor with a 7950gt I don't have to look at specs. Seems you need a new mainboard anyway so I would RMA. They should still take it back even if you opened it.

restocking fee ***

Hm $50.00 restocking fee is a bit much; I used to buy a whole card for that. They should wave the restocking fee since im buying another card that costs even more. We just did the refund from the newegg account users panel. The 7.65 shipping fee isnt to bad. Im calling them on monday and todays sunday. It's been about three days since I received it in the mail.

Newegg.com - EVGA 640-P2-N825-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SUPERCLOCKED HDCP Video Card - Retail A tiny bit more but you get more memory, and evga's step up program if you wanted to use it. I had a 7800gtx and i stepped up for free to the 7950gx2 which i love. Sometimes there is a difference in price but with mine i just had to pay shipping. I'm a fan of evga anyway, after how they dealt with problems i had with a card.
The first 7950gx2 i had started to have tearing and artifacting in games, and they crosshipped me a new one. Very fast too, very good support. When i called to ask a question i got someone on the first couple rings. Pretty rare today. I'm not familiar with BFG's tech support, but XFX and leadtek both sucked in my opinion.
