Nvidia 163.71 WHQL drivers for XP!

Nvidia 163.71 WHQL drivers are here for XP, get them if you need them...

Nice, but the last driver that works correctly on my 6800GT AGP card is 9x.xx series. All 16x.xx drivers I have tried including 163.71 kill my 2d performance.
The performance hit is noticeable. My PC is sluggish in the 2d environment though 3D seems to be unaffected. I have also found evidence of this problem using a bench program called Performance Test. Link to demo

Also see attached image, you may need to save it and use a image viewer that allows the image to be viewed full size. Look at the 2d shapes test.

I have no idea if this driver bug only happens on 6 series cards, 6800GT's or all cards as I have no other cards to test at this time.

If the new drivers arent working go back to the old ones.

Duh! I was wondering if others have had the same problem with 6 series cards or any series for that matter. Many may have the problem and not even know it.

I've had the same problems just like you I'm still using old drivers myself with my 6800gt's...Im still using 81.98 drivers in fact...

I think lot of the newer drivers are made more for Pcie rather then agp.

My 6800gt's are pcie and I still have trouble with the newer drivers in fact I quit trying the newer drivers, I'll wait for my new rig....by the way just ordered a 150 gig raptor and 2xsamsung 20x SH-S203B dvd sata burners...

...now for Penryn...can't wait

Looks like a lot of people have good luck with the 94.XX drivers.

Few more months and you should start to see the new intel cpu's and nvidia cards. Im looking forward on how the new 45mm cpu's are going to do.

Not that much difference on a few reviews I've read maybe 5 to 10% over the 65nm chips, I hope that the Penryn extreme will come out on Nov 12th but you never know, the one thing is no news at all on Nvidia's next video card?

I've had these installed for a couple weeks/less
right after .67's a few hours earlier, no issues with them yet..
still running the beta's... did increase BM's
