Question RESOLUTION DOESN'T SAVE AFTER REBOOT W/APPLE 23" DISPLAY + MSI GEFORCE 6800

Hi guys-

Has anyone encountered this problem: the resolution reverts back to 800x600 after a restart? I just hooked up the new Apple 23" Aluminum Display (1920x1200 native) and an MSI GeForce 6800NU using the latest Nvidia 61.77 drivers with no problems with the exception my BIOS screen no longer displays. I set the resolution to its native 1920x1200.

I turn on my computer, black screen, and then finally I see the Windows XP splash screen but in 800x600, and then Window finally loads up but in 800x600. I change the resolution to 1920x1200 again.

Does anyone have a suggestion? Is it the Nvidia drivers at fault? I've used an ATI with the Apple Cinema display with no problems.

Does the 6800NU support that resolution? I'm sorry, I'm not that familiar with the new nVidia cards. Also, it could possibly be the drivers that are at fault. Have you tried others to see if they give you better support?

Hey!

Yeah, the 6800NU shouldn't have a problem supporting it since it drives by the drivers (using the latest reference). I tried setting 1024x768 and rebooting, and it still loads up at 800x600. So strange.

Thanks for your input! Anyone know of any beta drivers?

Okay Rocked, I'm starting to agree with you and think that this is a driver issue. Although, I havn't been hearing very good things about the nVidia drivers that start with 63.xx. Good luck man, I hope someone here with more knowledge about your card can help you out.

The problem is clear... you're using an Apple product.

Bah who cares...I love those new Apple displays, and I can't stand using Apple computers. As soon as I can save up for it I wanna get the 20" display that runs at 1680x1050...same as our Inspiron 9100's. I love that res...and the apple display is the only one I can find for my PC that runs at it.
