Talking Sapphire HD3850 AGP 512MB is IN.. the Good & the Bad...!

Beautiful lil' critter, but..........

.. I can not get it recognised by my original ati cat8.1/8.2, so I'll have to actually use the sapphire cd drivers, before amd/ati comes out with cat8.3 I guess...

Darn right, after selling the 1950pro agp, I'd have to add just $20 or so...

The box "art". Why do all the "designers" always appear to be 12 years old and immensely sexually frustrated?

But has there been a single sale based on box art. I doubt it. The PC hardware market is like a huge black hole when it comes to good design. It's where designers come to let their corpse stink up the place. Sad.

Anyway, enough of my thread-jacking.

I think it's funny that under box contents it says an X1950 PRO.

Re: Sapphire HD3850 AGP 512MB is IN.. the Good & the Bad...!

Tempting, but after the driver problems I encountered on my boxes with the X1950Pro... not to mention the fact that one of those drivers totally thrashed my system to the point that a re-install was required, I'd have a hard time justifying even taking a look. Never was able to get the X1950s to do more than "Black Screen on Boot" with Windows Vista. Now running my old nVidia6800GS boards instead...

Given that my systems don't like the nVidia HSI bridge and ATI can't seem to develop a working AGP device driver for my systems, it looks these systems will be riding out the rest of their days on the 6800GS... Unless, of course, ATI wants to provide me with free upgrades for the $500 worth of X1950s I've got laying around for lack of a functional Vista device driver... LOL!

Jumped from 41892 to 45829 points in 3Dmark01, but every other benchmark crashed or just hang at the startup screen. Let's see if the 8.3 drivers are better than sapphires 8.1.

Greetings
