Strange screen sizes with new Cat and Directx drivers

Ok, as the thread says. I recently updated my Catalyst drivers for my ati radeon 9800 xt to Cat 4.7. Then I went to Directx 9.0c. Doom3 and CS run fine, but there's a little problem. The screen size seems to be askew. What I mean is, with Doom3 the screen is a TINY bit to the left. And with CS, the screen is now bigger than my monitor's display size. It's weird. This wasn't the case before the updates. I'm not sure what to do? Should I roll back my Catalyst driver?

Check the resolution and refresh rate of your monitor (the OSD of your monitor should provide the required information).
I guess that you will see a difference. If so you will have to options: 1. Readjust the refresh rate for the shown resolutions in your drivers OR readjust the picture of your monitor.

Here's the thing. My desktop, is fine. I adjusted it so it's right up to the edge. But now, although the desktop matches up to the edge, CS and Doom3 don't. They're off kilter. And I play both on different resolutions than my desktop. (CS at 1600x1200, Doom3 at 800x600(I haven't tweaked anything yet)).

Just go through all your resolutions in windows and adjust each one to fit your screen. That way when you change resolutions in a game the screen will already be adjusted to fit your monitor.

That works? Darn. Am I suppose to adjust the screen using the advanced screen settings, or the monitors OSD.

Regardless, I rolled back my Cat drivers to 4.6 and both my Doom3 and CS screens are fixed. My Fps is lower in Doom3, High, 1024x768, VSoff, AAoff at 42.5 (instead of 45.9). Oh well, I can deal.
