| Upgrading from a 9200 Radeon I was wondering if I could get impressions on the Radeon 9600 XT. I am thinking of upgrading to this board from my not so old Radeon 9200. Is it worth it? Or should I look to upgrade to a 9800 rather than the 9600. Cash is of course a constraint. Or would it be a better option to look for an Nvidia chipset? I am not really thrilled about the idea, since I have heard that some people report problems when changing video board chipset with their drivers and all (not really transparent switches). Anyone care to give me any pointers? Thanks! Dj |

| The 9600XT is a very good vidcard, but there isn't that much difference in cost between that and a 9800Pro these days, and the 9800Pro is a better vidcard. Do a little shopping around on the internet - NewEgg, ZipZoomFly, etc. and you should be able to find a 9800Pro for well under $200 these days. Not much more than a 9600XT. |
