I thought that Windows Live OneCare came only in a 32-bit ver?

.
Live OneCare starting with version 2.0, which came out in November 2007 runs on Windows Vista 64. Version 2.5 of Live OneCare is currently in beta testing.

It states that the license is for 3 computers. Can you have one on a 64-bit and two on a 32-bit?

Re: Prefetch

Yes you can. One computer can be 64bit, while the other 1 or 2 are 32bit. I'm doing this right now, as my laptop is only capable of running 32bit XP.

Plus if you watch the sales at places like Office Max, Staples and so on, you can get Live OneCare a lot of times for $19.99, and Microsoft allows you to go buy a retail box, and use the product key from that for your renewal if your current years subscription is close to expiring. I have a retail box, of Live OneCare that I bought months ago, and will be using the product key from that, when it comes time to renew my subscription next month.

Re: Prefetch

I am still Prefetch free, Indexing and UAC are not enabled on my Vista Systems I think that Super Prefetch is all you need on a capable system w/ Vista. I take the Adobe quick launch out of my startup also. I look at it as needless as Prefetch (Just an example).

My poky Vista notebook had a bloated Prefetch folder. Every time I took it out of suspend mode (indexing is disabled) the hard drive would be working till I put it down. I disabled Prefetch and the HD activity now ends after a short time.

Now how did the continuous HD activity speed up my notebook? It took a lot longer before to open MS Word. I had a good delay with Explorer that is now no longer.

Hmmmmmmmm

In a prior post I said I stopped using Readyboost, After watching the task manager, running many programs and stress tests, I found that it does not limit access to all of my 8GBs of RAM. I run prime and convert a bunch of media files simultaneously. Had a few programs stop responding for a while. But, they eventually came out of it. Oh, like to also add PCMark05 to the mix.
