Nope got that one a couple times lol. So was there any other reason then the COD2 patch not working that your switching to the 32bit? I was going to give the 64 a try but I don't want to if it's going to be too much of a pain.

well actually what happened was i thought i had installed bf2, but when it got to the direcx install part i hit cancel... and cause of that it must have deleted everything it just installed!

anyway i reinstall bf2 and the patch and it works... i just don't have sound

apparently audigy and x-fi's are having issues with vista sound, check the creative forums under vista

Why do we love these infernal machines? Still bent about losing my download at 99%. Huh no sound with just bf2? Sorry I remembered wrong when I said COD2. I did see that creative has drivers for Vista 64. I will check out 64 for a bit I guess but I have a feeling I will be going back to 32 like I did on XP. I will give the forum a look thanks

What kind of hardware are you guys installing on? I've got a spare XP 2100+ with 512mb and a radeon 9250 that I could install on but I don't know if powerful enough to get it running even without that crazy Aero thing.

I don't know but there is a big page of system requirements you can look at while your download is being rejected http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvist...y/default.mspx
I think you would be pushing it a little with that rig but it would probably run
