Re: The smilies are all screwed up today

I have asked that the smilies be re-instated, either in addition to the new ones or replacing them.

Everyone please just relax until this request gets processed...

:yes_2::yes_2: :dadomodance:

But we still need: and probably a few others, to make prior posts look correct.

You are absolutely correct ctal!

The smilies still need tweaking to be correct. For example beer is beerchug ATM and needs to be corrected for the many many past posts in major threads.

Why wasn't the old smilie file just reinstalled from a backup? And why has an admin not posted in this thread to inform us of forum actions? Was this an unintentional occurance or an intentional experiment?

Exclamation

STILL SCREWED UP ARE ---

And ... didn't the smilies always appear in the same order when you looked at them? Looks like the sort is broken.

Re: The smilies are all screwed up today

Smilies were removed at request of Maico Shark who does not like animated smilies on forums he runs for us. I somewhat agree because using smilies instead of words is very high school in my opinion, but I acquiesced to his request not thinking it a big deal.

As soon as I realized that the result would be broken image links- I immediately set about to reverse the process and informed Maico Shark of my decision. He resigned on principle for this and other recent things I have done to interfere with his way of doing things.

As for the threats and negativity in this thread, I wish it would stop since we have been working hard to get ABXzone to become more relevant in terms of discussions it fosters. I hope that members here will try to help.

Re: The smilies are all screwed up today

We are working on going to an older back-up to fix things. Should be done today. If we are unable to restore then I will need your help to fix things based upon smilie names and links so we can fix this. Thanks!

Re: The smilies are all screwed up today

Sanjay

It would have been nice to be a part of the process. The negativity you refer to is the regard you show us as basically after the fact more like do it and then apologize if it doesn't work out. We have seen this time and again.

I think that if the users here would have been asked they would have told you about the broken links before the problems arose.

Never the less we are grateful and appreciative of all of your efforts.
