Cooling problem with 8800 GTS

Hi,
my specs:

Asus P5B-VM
E6300 with spire QuadroFlow VII cooler
BFG 8800 GTS 640MB OC2
CORSAIR DDR2-667 2GB
Compucase 6A21 with 1X12CM front intake and 1X12cm rear exhaust

Before my BFG 8800 card, used the integrated graphics, CPU/MB @ idle were 35C/35C degrees. Now, with the 8800 inside, temps are 45/49 @ idle.

I think the reasons are:
1. The 8800 runs 57C at idle, and it radiates to the whole case.
2. The 8800 card blocks almost all the airway from the intake fan to the CPU and the NB chipset. That's because the card is very long and the intake fan is beneath it, the CPU+NB above it.

Is that true?

So what are my options?
Thought of two solutions:
1. Apply a zalman fatality 12CM for CPU, which will cool the NB,FET,memory,VGA too. + apply a zalman passive NB cooler.

2. Apply an active thermaltake NB cooler, like EXTREME SPIRIT II and leave the CPU as is (after all, 45C idle isn't that awful is it..)

What do you guys think?

You could also try something like a 5.25 bay cooler, that pushes air in or pulls air out. Also a blowhole in the top of the case? and or buy a new case, cases aren't too expensive and you could probably get one with some better air flow for a setup like what you have.

BTW
I have an air duct on the side panel of my case. Putting there a (intake) fan was an option I didn't like because a fan's not meant to be there, there is no dust filter, and wiring will be a mess everytime I would like to open the case...

My 8800gts heats up my case too. I recently bought a "slot cooler" which exhausts air. It basically sits right at the little vents on the 8800gts and extracts the hot air which would otherwise go back into the case.

I found that this setup cools my cpu under load between 3-6 degrees. Might be worth looking into.

I gave a range because it is not a controlled test environment - and I generally use coretemp log to measure temp. It seems to be consistently in that range over relative similar times without the sloo cooler.

I have one of these on my sli rig on the side panel and works great and under $15 total for both the fan and filter...
