Suggestions? Either ways to dampen the sound, replacement coolers...

Also, how hot do Radeon GPU's run? Would I be safe in just unplugging the fan?

Thanks

private joke - not for anyone else...

john64, roi is never associated w/ diy pc's for obvious reason: these things consume your time & time has value; but what the hay, seriously challenging & so rewarding in non-tangible manner...

best advice is do not do diy pc - next best advice is always read instructions first...

good sense of humor, john

all kidding aside, the immutable law of universe, minimize manufacturing cost & maximize profitability applies w/ vengence re: pc noise levels

where interest is fan noise reduction, pc diy is only way to go (unless manufacturer offers low(er) noise model (at premium price)) ...

actually it does make sense, the return is better performance in cooling, thus overclocking. The investment is time and money. I personally feel that the time and money spent on changing a GPU sink (factoring in the risk of killing the card) is not worth the small ompact on performance!
