Cooling using Nano technology

A few companies are developing CPU cooling systems based on diverse new NANO technology, such as iCurie , Cool Chips, Cooligy, NanoCoolers and Thorrn Micro Technologies.

Does anyone knows of latest developments? How about availibilty?

As far as computer cooling with all this nano technology, I wouldn't expect any any time soon. Cooligy seems to lost a lot of interest after they had a big marketing hype, and yet to deliver a product. I want to say that they were going to be shipping their unit by a year ago, yet to see it. Also the video card company Sapphire had a big push for a card with liquid cooling. The actual test were extremely promising, but as the card was to be put into production the company responsible for the liquid metal, backed out for a bigger fish to fry.

As far as cooling for the computer, it will be pretty stagnate for a while. The person responsible for the Swiftech Storm (Cathar), says that from his calculations, the most that he could get would be maybe .5C, but the time and investment, would not be profitable.

University of Washington researchers have succeeded in building a cooling device tiny enough to fit on a computer chip that could work reliably and efficiently with the smallest microelectronic components.
