| Noob questions I'm about to assemble a system, and I need advice. (E6600, D975XBX2KR, 2GB Patriot eXtreme PC2-6400, 8800GTS, Big Typhoon, Antec TPII(430w) in an Antec P180, Dell 24" WFP) 1) I've read a lot of good things about the Thermaltake Big Typhoon. I was wondering if anyone has tried one yet. 2) Is 430w enough? 3) I plan on reinstalling XPSP2, getting things "right", and THEN upgrading to Vista. Good idea? Bad idea? 4) Any tricks, tips, or other recommendations? Any and all advice is appreciated! |

| I would consider that PSU to be too lean for my taste. Also, I see no reason to install XP first if you plan to run Vista. Vista has many drivers available now. I had little trouble setting it up on a similar configuration (E6600, D975XBX1) The Big Typhoon will be plenty of cooling for that even with a considerable OC. Good Luck!

| IMHO you should buy a 500 Watts PSU at least. Prefer good brand names (Enermax, Fortron) etc... |

| Thanks for the info and guidance. As part of a parts-swap deal, I was able to get the same PSU type (Antec TruePower II) in the 550w flavor. Thanks again for your help |
