Very nice work Eldonko! Thanks for all of it too. When I finish a dice session I always turn off PSU & unplug power cord. I also have put a little warm water into the tube and watched the tube temp raise quickly, easy removal of tube without waiting and enables to check for ice formation also.

You could probably do yourself a big favor by lapping the bottom of the heatsink a bit. That thing bearly looks flat, lt alone microscopically flat. I you are trying to squeeze every ounce out of the cpu, then that could help.

Edit: Disregard...didn't see where you had done that on page 3. If you could get some 2000 grit, you would be in great shape

I just popped the tube off right away this time; no water or ice anywhere. I learned from last time when I let it sit with the mb plugged in and it almost exploded from all of the ice on the top of the tube that melted lol.

spookyload I'm not really worried about the tube being any more flat than that. It is already too cold for every CPU I have ever owned hehe. I will finish lapping one day but it is no rush at the moment.

Yeah I got the PM clyde, thanks, I will give that a try for next time. i agree w/ jag, you should add a thread here with pics and stuff on your tube creations if you have time. It will be useful for those looking to do something like you did (creating tubes), instead of being lost in that giant DFI thread.

I just found out that my 165 speed above is a WR by almost 200Mhz :O The sun shines on a dogs *** once a day huh?
