| Phase to dice, 56k beware Ok guys, time to go to the next level and add my experiences with dice cooling to the section. My previous three threads are here, h20, chilled h20, and phase: H20 thread Chilled H20 thread Phase thread I will receive my first dice tube this week and I will have a second in a little while to compare. Lately I went through a few threads of people’s systems dying because of condensation/corrosion, this worried me a bit since I haven’t looked at my CPU pins or anything since the CPU has been frozen. I thought it was time to reinsulate in prep for dice and it’s a good idea to take a look for condensation every few months anyway. Similar to the other 3 threads, this one will include tons of pics and I will try and show step by step what I did for insulation and installation. First thing, checking evap contact and for corrosion on the CPU and MB. Evap was making good contact and was centered: CPU pins all look good, no corrosion at all, the dielectric grease and PC_ICE mounting hardware worked well.

| Wow, you were using a lot of grease. I usually clean it off with isopropyl alcohol and a soft toothbrush, then put it somewhere warm to dry. Preferably not an oven. |

| A few supplies: First thing I did was coat the area with liquid electrical tape. This is great stuff, it is much easier to remove than nail polish and works great. This will stop any condensation from getting to the electrical parts of the MB. The back

This is how much I put. I spread it out and squish it down. After that I just wipe off the excess. CPU installed and excess grease removed.

| That's not much grease. It looked like a lot more based on what I saw on the pins. |

| Next I add neoprene custom cut to fit around the CPU area and fill in the cracks with liquid tape. It looks shiny here because I took the pic before it dried. And the back:

| That's about it for today, dice pics to follow as soon as I get the first tube. I discovered Praxis, a place that sells dice and LN2 a few minutes from my house so I will have easy access to the stuff.

| The container has been used by a few very good benchers as you can see by the wear. Tomorrow I will clean it up and if I can figure out some sorta backplate to use, I will pick up some dice.

The CRC stuff you posted is probably very similar to what I have, maybe it is a little stronger because it is made for cleaning contacts.

| I am going to pass getting dice today. There is only an hour and a half before closing and I am still trying to figure out this new BH-5 I got. Have to know the RAM well before I am going to be able to get any good dice results. Praxair is open tomorrow until noon though, I will pick up a 15 pound block then. $1.53 per pound canadian, pretty cheap I guess and they will make it into a block, pellets, or whatever I want.
