| Silent Cooler for AMD Barton 2600 Hi, I've got a Barton core 2600+ overclocked. Currently, I have a Thermaltake Silent Boost (original) heatsink on the CPU, on a Soltek SL-75FRN-L2 motherboard, inside an Antec Sonata case. My current temps are 50 degrees Celcius on die and 38 degrees case at load. I've got an ATI Silencer from AC on my video card, and 120mm fans. The ONLY noise coming from my case is the heatsink. I do a lot of dev work with multiple database systems and Visual Studio 2005 running on my system. I don't think I could bear to go back to the stock speed, but I can't bear the noise from the heatsink either. Do you guys have any recommendations on silent heatsinks? I was looking at heatsinks from Zalman but their motherboard compatibility list says my motherboard doesn't work. Thanks in advance! |

| I've got one of these http://www.coolerguys.com/840556031192.html with a 92mm panaflo fan on a xp 2100. It's not in a case, the boards are just sitting on my table and the only noise I hear is the hard drive. It's amazingly cool too.

| I'm not familar with the Thermaltake HS you have, but here's something worth looking into: http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/Therm...n-p-16242.html It'd be pretty quiet with a 92mm Low Output Panaflo. I think ThermalRight made a 120mm HS for AthlonXP processors, but don't know if it's still available.

| I put dynamat in one of my cases. It didn't do much to dampen the noise.
