A taste of Humble Pie. Mea Culpa, Koolance

I must apologize to Koolance, at least in part for blaming all my problems on them(see thread HERE
I recently e-mailed Koolance with a list of my complaints about this Koolance Exos II. Almost immediately I received a reply with a list of corresponding answers. I learned that I had ordered the "wrong" CPU cooling block (1/4inch I.D., 3/8inch O.D.). The one I ordered works, but it is not the one designed for the Exos II. I have since ordered the correct cooling block (3/8inch I.D., 1/2inch O.D.) which should arrive today along with two GPU cooling blocks for my BFG 7800's.

I maintain that Koolance could improve their instructions especially by indicating that the mounting hardware from the stock HS is required to mount the CPU cooling block.
Koolance Tech also mentioned the anticipatory design of the Exos II cooling fan control system, in particular how if it is run in auto, the timing of the fan speeds are programmed to increase in sync with the Exos II temp probe readings. However, the lag between these temp probe readings and the realtime core temps is great enough to cause system shutdown if you overclock. In otherwords, the core temp of the CPU can exceed the maximum temperature at which it is stable before the Exos II fans kick into high gear. So, when overclocking and testing I find it necessary to run the cooling fans in manual mode.
In summary, if you're overclocking, the pretty blue LED's on the Exos II are not of much use. If I'm wrong on any of this, please let me know.

I applaud your public eating of humble pie. Too often people remain silent when they learn that they have contributed to a problem they attribute to someone else. It shows a great deal of graciousness to post this publicly.

I also applaud Koolance's quick response to you. It's always good to hear that a company actually responds to inquiries. If you haven't already done so, you might consider a further message to Koolance making your suggestions concerning what they could do to avoid problems caused by confusion in the future.
