thermal compund cleaner

probably is overkill but I'm going to purchase this thermal compund cleaner called Arctic Clean...it's from the makers of Arctic Silver and it looks to be the best out there...I normally just use some rubbing alcohol but I'm gonna start giving this a try...it got a lot of good reviews as well

I think I'll have to resort to methylated spirits from lack of isopropyl alcohol higher than 64% around here.

before buying the Arctic Clean product I dabbled in buying a bottle of denatured alcohol (which I heard was the absolute best thermal compund cleaner)...but after reading the Warning label I got scared off...basically it tells you that the product can blow up your house as it can ignite very easily...the fumes remain in the air for about an hour after you use the product and you cannot smell the fumes...things such as pilot lights and any electrical device can ignite the alcohol as it contains 0% water I believe...

I promptly returned the bottle to my hardware store... suddenly using rubbing alcohol seemed perfectly fine

Think 64% would be good enough?

Sounds like a drink I once had... 2:1 Vodka to Isopropyl Alcohol, put an olive in that and you are good to go.

I don't know about the cleaner, might be a good idea. Every time I went to my local drug store (CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens) and ask for 90% alcohol, they look at me like I'm crazy. I just happen to be at another local superstore (Meijer) and just happen to see some 99% alcohol. I almost bought 2 bottles, since I've always heard about this mystery high % alcohol but could never seem to find any.

I've ordered fan controllers and fans from the link polonyc posted, great service and they even sleeve your fans for you, your choice of color for free. Doesn't ship same day though if you get it sleeved but they do a great job.

they are an awesome retailer...they do pretty much anything you ask...installs of VGA coolers, modded power supplies, sleeving/cabling, etc etc...

I've been using that cleaner for a while. acetone or lighter fluid works just as good IMO. I think I'll stop using it once it is gone.
