Thumbs up That looks like something I'd do, it's well ventilated!

Nice job, it looks like it would be a LOT of airflow for just one drive. I cut the fan grill out on my USB hard drive for more airflow. I dunno why they make aluminum drive enclosures with no way to transfer the heat to the aluminum shell, other than drive to air to enclosure to air! It would be MUCH more efficient IF they went drive to aluminum shell to air, but the case would get ALL of the drive's vibrations, and probably be noisy. I dunno, people need to be less picky about noise.

It might be a little bit of overkill, but think about what we use these things for. Mine gets used exclusively for backing up systems and very large file transfers, so the cooling should reflect the use..... I'm thinking my next project will be a hard drive strapped to a SFF PSU ( I hate the power brick on this thing) Gimme a unit twice the size and a longer plug anytime.
