Question

I have an intermitant problem of the screen icons being corrupted when I run at 850 (C2 566), sometimes refreshing them sorts it , other times not. MB temp doesn't seem to be the problem according to MBM5 with peak temperatures at 41°C normal around 28 - 31°C.

Is it possible the PSU is struggling to supply enough power for the RADEON ? BTW it is 230 Watt.

I don't get BSOD and video drivers don't seem to be the issue.

any thoughts ?

Try upping the Vcore and a 300 watt PS may help too!

Your problem is an ATI problem.

Check out the radeon Forums over here.......
http://www.rage3d.com/radeon/

I've had the same problem with different drivers introducing the issue.

I finally cleaned out my Windows\inf directory of all ATI .inf files.
Uninstalled MMC7 and deleted the ATI All In WOnder Radeon and its drivers.

I used the Radeon 1.0 install CD with MMC7.

I no longer have the ICON corruption, however I still have the comctrl.dll file failure when opening Outlook Express, so I just use Outlook 2000.

All In Wonder Radeon
WinME with all the updates.

Thumbs down

That's what I thought. But i now think it is more serious. From day one 16 bit resolution has been crap with vertical purple lines showing up in button boxes and drop down menus. when I changed to 32 bit all was well ! so I though "crappy ATI drivers" or 'kin Win ME , but now I think not.

Over the last two days I have build up two new systems(three times each). I replaced my CII 566 with a PIII 700 formatted the HD and loaded ME from new except I used my G400 in place of the Radeon. A have the same problem with pixel dropping in text and the 16 bit colour is just as bad as the ATi card. Ha maybe the AGP port ?

So I format , load ME set up the on-boards video and at 16 bit colour , you guessed it crap. OK it must be one of Bill G's "features" in ME.

So I rebuild my AX6B MB using a clean Me install and the ,not so suspect, Radeon. It works no problem no pixel tearing 256 - 32 bit fine.

The I swop the memory between MB's , no better.
I have reverted back to BIOS Rev 3 , no better

I now think I have a faulty MB , which is getting sicker by the day.

If any of you people have any suggestions to try and help please post them , sorry this is so long but it has been a bitching two days !!.
The only bit of light is the PIII 700 I bought runs at 933MHz at default voltage

Looking for a open windowin a high building...

That sounds exactly like what my first All In Wonder Radeon did!!!

It was a Faulty Video card.

I went into my "Syetem Properties->device manager" in Windows Milly and ran the Diagnostic tests that the Video card has in it.

I failed the "Generic Display Test"

I took the card back and got a new one and all is well.

Unhappy

I wished it was the same for me , my Radeon is running fine in a BX board with Win ME. My Matrox G400 is showing the same problems after a clean install. I am taking some screen shots of the G400. i will put the Radeon back and do the same , then back to ASUS I think.

bummer

Just a thought.

Are you using the same monitor for all tests?

If not, it may be the monitor. Otherwise, I agree, it's probably the MB. Take it back if you can.
