Zalman CNPS 9500

It appears Zalman's new cooler will be available in early September in the US. $75.

http://www.sharkacomputers.com/zacn95ledcpu.html

European shops may get it sooner.

The price may come down once it's more widely available. But I heard this is probably going to be the best-performing HSF on the market. The first shipment coming to the US will probably sell out very fast.

I am going to wait until i hear of user reports in noise and how well it cools s478 prescotts, in particular the 3.4e. Plus the $75 price needs to come down!

$75 is less than I paid for the Asetek Micro Chill Extreme at launch, If it outperforms that I'll get one, 28db on full will also be a huge reduction in noise level. Due the end of next week in the UK.

I too believe that prices will come down a bit, but not much.
However this cooler will replace my giant 7700Cu.

Xbit Labs has a review of the 9500. Pretty impressive results. It even beat a Gigabyte watercooling system.

Link

"Zalman once again proved up to our expectations and designed a true masterpiece of the cooling art. Creativity and skills of Zalman engineers is really impressive and right now we can hardly believe that someone out there will be able to outpace them here."

First review I've seen, compares the Zalman and the Microchill. No idea how they got such a low idle with the Asetek, I can't get mine lower than 37 on full tilt. Zalman Looks promising. I've pre-ordered.

Thanks for the link. The bit-tech review is actually of more interest to me because they used an AMD chip for testing.

I ordered this on friday 8-20 from sharka and it just shipped today 8-22.

So they do have it in stock.

P.S. Fear Factory, ROCH posted that review in his post up there ^^^

I do have a question tho.. How would I use the CPU vent on an Antec 1050B with this? Fan blowing in or fan blowing out? ANyone know the proper method on this? I tried googling it with no luck.
