Apple Safari jumbo patch: 50+ vulnerabilities fixed

Apple has shipped a whopper of a Safari browser update to fix more than 50 vulnerabilities, some rated extremely critical. The latest fixes, available in the new Safari 4.0, corrects a wide range of code execution and denial-of-service vulnerabilities and even comes with a fix for the vexing “clickjacking” issues plaguing modern Web browsers.

Re: Apple Safari jumbo patch: 50+ vulnerabilities fixed

Heh, i think it is hilarious when people compare different browsers and claim that they have no flaws and are unhackable. They also claim that they are fastest to get fixed. To top that all off, they always compare it against explorer which is obviously the best benchmark for quality, features, quickness, and fixes...so it seems due to the amount of people comparing 'theirs' to it.

But when a massive fix that includes 50 fixes in one patch, it is obvious that the company were not very fast to give those fixes to their customers, probably because they are still claiming that their browser is flawless and unhackable....right? But if they didn't release those patches.......

The more popular a browser becomes, the more the hackers are going to try to exploit them. The hard part is to find the first loop hole, after that I would imagine that it is all over for the browser in terms of security. 1 leads to another, and another.

When you have 50 people making security for hardware or software, you end up with 100,000's of people trying to crack it. The more popular the 'thing' becomes, the more people try to crack it.

So, if anyone wants a secure browser. You need to eigther find a brand new browser that has only been out for less than 6 months, or find a no name browser that no one knows about...and never tell anyone or brag about it.

Just my nickles worth.
