| ATI Demonstrates “The Future” DirectX 11 Graphics Cards at Quakecon For a change, lets have some gaming related news for the weekend... ATI, graphics business unit of Advanced Micro Devices, may be demonstrating its next-generation DirectX 11 graphics processing units at Quakecon... “Area64 will be exclusive access only, meaning, you can try to find it, but its hidden and being kept secret. AMD will be showcasing what we lovingly refer to as ‘The Future’... Back in the days, ATI used Quakecon to show the power of the now legendary ATI Radeon 9700 Pro (R300), the world’s first DirectX 9 graphics processor... Be great if someones going to be in Dallas if they would check this out and let us know what they found... Read about it here

| Re: ATI Demonstrates “The Future” DirectX 11 Graphics Cards at Quakecon Btw, I sure do hope there is something substantial to this... otherwise the GT300 is going to cost an arm and a leg when it comes out...

| Re: ATI Demonstrates “The Future” DirectX 11 Graphics Cards at Quakecon With new graphics technology coming out every 6 months, and drivers becoming less and less stable with every card release, is everyone sure they want the new generation graphics this soon when manufactures can't even get today's cards stable? Competition leads to cheaper cards for consumers. But with less manufacture profits, there is less over head for manufactures to research and develop drivers for their graphics hardware. |
