And I remember when this whole outsourcing thing was just an idea...
I remember all the debates and fears about it... that was only a few short years ago...

I was chatting to an IT program director the other day, who mentioned he is outsourcing some development activity to India, and I asked how that was going... answer is you spend more time in the analysis phase in order to make the requirements as clear as possible to minimise re-work and facilitate communication in the development phase... which makes sense, and otherwise he had no problems with it...

...so this really is just business as usual now isnt it... and we dont blink an eye anymore... despite jobs going off-shore...

I also remember when we didnt have mobile phones or the web either, but that seems almost unreal to me now...

...and then today I saw a kid wearing flared jeans... something I wore when I was 16... and the whole edifice of modern progress came crashing down as I realised that while the tech we interact with changes and evolves we are all still the same animal inside...
