Pentagon fears trojans, kill switches in foreign-made CPUs

Worried about the possibility of kill-switches and backdoors in mission-critical integrated circuits, the Department of Defense has launched the "Trust in IC" program to root out foreign tweaks to common chips.

Thumbs down Re: Pentagon fears trojans, kill switches in foreign-made CPUs

Let's keep this "free trade" going with china until it DROWNS this country with problems, then PANIC to find a solution. Is it me, or does that sound like a STUPID thing to do?!?! Well, it's DONE, were're PANICING, DROWNING, and still TOO STUPID to STOP! This country is circling the drain, I guess people won't get it until they NEED to learn chinese and spanish to get a job .

Well, hopefully the government is actually doing something besides talking and overseeing some contractors (who have their own agenda), and the "Trust in IC program" becomes something besides a lot of taxpayer dollars flushed down the drain with no viable result.

WHO CARES about that stuff, the power infrastructure, and all kinds of other stuff that would affect the civilian world, and some of the non essential military stuff would still be at risk. It would still result in some VERY bad things.
