Re: Windows 7 Available October 22; Pricing Hinted At

To sum up much of what Johnrr6 is saying...
Less Bloat

I wish I had an extra system laying around, I'd give Win7 a whirl.

John I think you have your finger on MS's pulse, you are so right. I am going Windows 7 also, I want the most modern, supported, and prevelant OS being used but I feel Vista is the best OS I have ever used.

I was going to install W7 but I was told there is a newer version that I don't have. Just going to wait for it to come out.

I have had a couple of issues with W7. It may be hardware/driver related though.

One of the wierd ones is that .mpg files have no sound in media player. If I play them with media center, I can hear them.

Sounds like one of those crazy, maddening and hard to solve "codec issues".....

Look at the site of the guy who does the "Vista Codec Pack" and see if he has cooked up something for Win 7

Vsta Codec Pack 64 version solved the exact same problem you described for me----but I was using Vista---not Win 7

I wasn't really worked up about it. If it happens when I install the final, well then..

Re: Windows 7 Available October 22; Pricing Hinted At

I really haven't had too many problems with W7. I have a couple of apps that need XP so I've installed the Windows Virtual Machine and Virtual Windows XP. It's OK but I haven't gotten all the features (of the apps) to work.
