Windows 7 Review---You can quit complaining!!

From Gizmodo: "Could Windows 7 accomplish everything that's expected of it? Probably not, but it makes a damn good attempt. We've tested the gold master, the final version going out on October 22. Upgrade without trepidation, people. With excitement, even!"

Re: Windows 7 Review---You can quit complaining!!

I just read the first lines about their test systems ... and then stopped reading.

If some one likes to do a honest comparison , he should use single core CPU !!

This is the backwards compatibility , that Microsoft said to the market, that Win7 will offer .

We do not need , another one promise of fresh code , for few hardware enthusiasts .

The families , they do not trash their computers every three years ..

Re: Windows 7 Review---You can quit complaining!!

synchmaster-----how about this for a test----cuz I did it.....

I put Win7 Ultimate on a small netbook with a slow Atom 270 Processor and 1 Gig of RAM

Ran GREAT----and ran Office 2007 GREAT!

Our school system is testing Win7 now with several models of older hardware and initial reports is that it "runs better on the older hardware than winXP does"

I think that is truly remarkable!!!

Vista did/does pander to the hardware gods......

It appears Win7 doesn't.

And with all the pent up demand and with the word "Vista" being perceived to be a nasty word.....

I think MS is going to make a FORTUNE on this release!!

BTW----Vista is a TREMENDOUS OS!!!----but you DO have to have the ponies to make it work great.......

Let's hope Win7 doesn't have that requirement.

Re: Windows 7 Review---You can quit complaining!!

I love it, the sub title is "You can quit complaining" and thats the first comment.

Seriously, I have the RTM running on a Acer laptop with a 1.7 GHz Celeron with 2GB of RAM. Its probably 2-3 years old and its a noticeable difference than when Vista which was installed. Of course it runs great on the desktop but that has more than one core.

Re: Windows 7 Review---You can quit complaining!!

I have my main rig running windows 7 and so far so good.
I have yet to install a game ... no time but seems to run better than the Vista Ultimate 64 bit I had before on this system.

Have installed 2 games, the new Wolfenstein, & the Batman Arkham Asylum demo. They both run very well.
