Re: How much memory do you currently have

Just about to start a new build (just waiting for the HSF to be delivered). So I'll be at:
  1. My system: 4GB
  2. Wife's system: 2GB
  3. Server: 1GB

Plus around 3GB of assorted memory I don't have a use for right now.

Not as much as I had when I was in my twenties.

Re: How much memory do you currently have

I have 4GB in my main system which is also my HTPC. I bought a 2GB flash drive not too long ago and Vista gave me the option to use ready boost (do not say ready boost on package). But since I use Vista 32bit which only sees 3.5 of my 4gigs anyway will it actually use any of the flash drive.

Re: How much memory do you currently have

Any chance XP SP3 will allow the use of >2GB memory, to overcome its memory limitations of 3.5GB?

Re: How much memory do you currently have

Sorry, no.
The 3.25 GB limitation is inherent to 32-bit operating systems. The only way to can overcome this is to use a 64-bit OS.
I'm using the RC2 of SP3 and my 32-bit XP still reports 3.25 out of 4GB.

Re: How much memory do you currently have

I have XP SP3 and just threw another 2Gb into my system totalling 4... It only recognizes 2.75 Gb, although I noticed a performance boost anyway with games, boot and shutdown.
