I do look forward to it, I hate the commercialism around it but that doesn't take the spirit away from it for me.

Of course. The food, the company, the no-need-to-study-and-if-there-was-I'd-hurt-whoever-forced-me-to stuff...

I've always "had a problem" with the comercialism part of Christmas. It annoys the crap out of me, which is probably where my "Scrooge" nickname that my mom gave me when I was about 5 came from.

Speaking of my mom.....that is the main reason. She was a Christmas freak (big-time)....so this Christmas is just going suck eggs for me (and my family)!

Ok...I was asked, and I told why. Now PLEASE everybody don't go making a big deal about it or even mentioning it again. No, I really don't want to talk about it and no it won't make me feel better to talk about it.

I'm looking forward to Christmas for the much-needed time off, and to see my family. Gifts, trees, etc. are a secondary benefit.

We were always big on Christmas when I was little and it's always been that way. Sure when you're a kid it's all about presents but after my brother and I moved out it's become more of a family gathering thing.

I still love the songs, food and traditions, but as I said, those are kind of secondary now.

Christmas is all about children as far as im concerned. It was all about me when i was a kid, and now that i have kids i try to pass the tradition along to them so when they become adults they can do the same. Yes its over commercialised and yes its a huge rip-off, but like i said its all about the kids, not us and our credit cards. You make a concious decision to spend money, we arent made to. So lets spend up big on our kids (those of us that have them).

Christmas is a big thing around here! I enjoy having my kids, their husbands and my grandchildren here for a few days. My wife is the biggest kid of all! Far too much money is spent and I eat too much, but it's only once a year.

I have never been big on Christmas.....way too commercial for me. But my wife is HUGE on Christmas and I do enjoy watching her at Christmas. She spent most of yesterday shopping for 31 underprivaleged kids and was so happy she was able to find most of the items they wanted, each kid could list 3 things and had a $20 limit. I was too sick to go with her unfortunately. So I just got to see her expressions at home as she told me how good she did. That is the only part of Christmas I enjoy.
