Tricksy spammers hammering ABX

Lately I've noticed the spammers are getting very tricky and are targeting the 'zone.
Technique seems to be to start 2 or 3 fake threads under a new login with advertising links in the posts. Few weeks later another post is made to bump the threads, but not necessarily with the same login.

I notice they're also trying to make the posts fit the forum, although they always seem obvious to me.

I dont know what can be done about it, except to ask that the Mods be on the lookout for this kind of attack. (I recommend banning the logins and closing the threads).

See the comments by me and others in the following thread. http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110134
It's very disappointing that in that thread the original poster's spam links are still there, and he is still a member.

Regards,
-- Al

100 posts are now required before links can be live in a signature.

This can put you into somehow strange situations.
What if you are suspicious, if you're not sure if the post you answer is really someone searching for help and not for 100 posts so the links in his signature become hot.

What would you do?

Greetings

Dru

It's almost unimaginable to me that a spammer would devote the time to accumulating 100 posts at ABX so that his spam links would become active. I suspect he wouldn't even be paying close enough attention to the site to realize that was a requirement. Regards,
