| A8N-E memory timings, etc Howdy folks, not many threads specific to the A8N-E. I had an A7N8X Deluxe and the best timings were 2 2 2 11. I'm coming up with 2 2 2 7 for the A8N, tRAS range 6 through 8 so I picked 7. Memory is the original TWINX-1024LL, windbond BH-5. BIOS 1005 (came with board). Memory clock will likely be left at 200 (400). I'm running an FX55 and the board on auto didn't set the Hyper Transport Frequency at 1000 (x5), but 800 (x4) instead which I thought was odd. If you guys can point me where I need to be, it'd be much appreciated. BTW these new boards have some really cool tricks, Q-fan that actually works well for a change (XP90 with a FBA09A12H1BX), Cool 'n' Quiet (not likely to use) that drops the multiplier on the fly. Slick stuff coming from an A7N8X with features that never worked properly.

| If you're going to run at default speed, there probably isn't much you need to do in the BIOS. Manually set hypertransport frequency to x5 and see what happens. I'm going to move this thread to the A64 Chipset section which is where most of the motherboard discussion takes place. |
