Nah it is 1.02. I was mistaken. I read 1.01 of the dual card switcher thing that is inserted in the motherboard in between the two video cards. I removed video card 1 and sure enough it says Rev 1.02...

Yesterday I got the last piece missing in my new computer, the motherboard. It was a brand new ASUS A8N-SLI (non-deluxe).

Today, more than 10 hours of configuration later, I haven't got my system to work.

All the fans start spinning, even the one on the GFX which isn't connected directly to the Power supply, but through the motherboard.

BUT I CAN'T GET THE MONITOR TO RECIEVE A SIGNAL!

I've tried resetting the CMOS, I've tried using the other PCIe-slot, I've tried detaching the RAM but don't get an error-beep and last of all I've tried searching for other people with similar problems. What I've found out is that alot of people have this problem but there are not many answers to what is wrong.

I don't have another PCIe or PCI card to try the mobo with.

Therefor, I turn to you as the last people I'll give a chance to help me before I send the mobo back and ask for a new one. All ideas will be appreciated and tested.

SYSTEM:

Mobo > ASUS A8N-SLI
Power > Fortron 400W (12V 14A)
GFX > Asus EN6600GT 128MB PCIe
CPU > AMD64 3500+ s939 Win90nm
RAM > 2x512MB TwinMOS PC3200 400Mhz DualChannel
HDD > WD 160GB 7200RPM IDE

I don't know if this has been mentioned in this thread already, if it has I'm sorry but I'm, as you surely can understand, desperate.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Use a flathead screw driver. Be careful not to touch anything else, just the two pins designated as the Power On function. I'm still waiting for my CPU, which tracking info says "On FedEx vehicle for delivery." I can't wait any longer!!! I'm in agony.........arh.....where is it? When is it going show up? Can't wait...just can't wait any longer. I may have a heart attack before it gets here.....LOL...

That's totally fine, too. Just make sure you insert it to turn it On, then take it out. Don't leave it on the pins or else you will consistently have a On, Off, On, Off, you know what I mean.

You should have a bigger PS 14A on the 12 volt rail is not enough, try putting a 4 pin molex connector on the MB next to the top video card ( I know its when you use it for sli but it won't hurt anything ) see if that helps...

labbe,

It sounds like you could have a motherboard mount in a place it doesn't belong. Have you tried powering up the motherboard outside the case?

It would just power up and power back off 4 seconds later, but it wouldn't cycle.

If your board is working, along w/ everything else, it'll stay on until you turn it off. It's just like pushing and releasing the power button.

fvbounty: Yupp, I've tried it :/

Thanks for the advice though.

Sick Willie: I'm going to a friends house tomorrow to try some new things out. Maybe I'll try your suggestion although I'm pretty sure that the M/B is in the right place.
