Hi Guys
I`ve been reading this thread on & off for a few weeks now & thanks to the info here I`ve built a new rig & passed on my old P4C800-DLX system.
Everything is up & running sweet.

Once in 1 or 2 weeks the boot menu of my Asus A8N-SLI changes the boot order automatically. In the bios there is a subsection in de boot section for hard disk drives. My OS HDD a Raptor 74GB is then placed on the second position after the other HDD, a Maxtor DiamondMax 10. This change results in the following errormessage: "disk boot failure;insert system disk and press enter".

After changing the boot order again, in which I put the Raptor on the first position, and save the changes, the pc start up normally.

I use bios 1011 and no RAID.

Does this have to do with SATA drivers?
Does any one has a solution for these strange automatic changes?

Thanks in advance guys.

Lightbulb andre*k . . . . .

. . . . . i have ran into this "changing boot order_prob" before with my son's DFi board system; and after all the trouble shooting of his system only come to find out that it was the "motherboard's battery" voltage being too low..... ....it start's to do this more and more often till finally it got the point of every time you would started the PC up ! ! ! .........Finally, just went and changed the battery.......and poooof ! ! no more prob's since........................just thought i'd pass this over and let you know if maybe it will also be this simple of a fix for you and your system........Battery should be like 3v.'s ............G/L .......and hope this help's ya out as well......

I wonder why lately (since 1008 or 1009), my Premium cannot detect the BIOS correctly when I try AsusUpdating. It always comes up saying no proper BIOS image is found for my mobo (or something to that affect). I am only able to download the BIOS file, then choose Update BIOS from a file to update my BIOS. And probably from drive A. But if I do it directly from Internet, always a problem. Did I accidently damage my BIOS in some way that makes it uncognizeable by AsusUpdating automatic detection process?

No, but if you look on the ASUS website you can contact them by email. Make sure you tell them the make/model ser. of the mobo. Worked for me.

Just move to the Premium or 32 and you will get rid of the fan annoyance.

already did a while ago. i just want to get an asus chipset fan back on my old deluxe board i'm currently not using, cause it has a good switftech chipset cooler on it that I want to use for another motherboard. i figure if i get the old official asus chipset fan on it (hopefully the newer one they've been using) then maybe I could pass the board on to someone else or sell it.
