been fighting with XP for 45 minutes now, i can't get XP to install.
1. it is reporting my primary drive is bad
2. when i try my secondary drive, it blue screens!

finally got XP installed, my automated install disc is bad. i went to my plain XP w/ SP2 disc and i am finalizing my options now

well it is still BSOD'ing so time to really test the memory again i guess. i have no idea what else it could be

another 3800X2. gonna RMA the first then sell it.

this is so incredibly frustrating. i decided to just shut it down last nite and take a look at it this AM. I have a feeling that maybe it was just my ram that died and it tested good on the old CPU. i just loaded up memtest on 1 stick now, and when i get home tonite i will test the other

Blue,
can you post your settings for stock speeds with the X2?. I am wondering if leaving everything to auto for the most part is messing up my system.

if it isn't that then it must be one of the 3, cpu, mobo, or ram

i am tempted to order some Corsair since it seems this board was designed to work with corsair.

2X 1GB PC3200 OCZ EL PT... running fine at 1T AND 1:1 225 (2.5, 3, 2, 5) ...and that's recycled Rev. 1 OCZ from my old MB... your mileage may vary.

true...but Corsair is making it seem like their RAM is the ONLY RAM that should be used on this board...which is completely false...they just happened to sign a contract with ASUS to market and release their products together
