I have Unchecked Automatically Restart under System Failure, I have never seen a blue screen at all, so thats why I thougt it is the power supply. I talked to one of the venders I ordered parts though and they recommended reinstalling the nvidia drivers, has anyone seen an issue with driver corruption and this hardware?

As much as I hate to say this, but I have read somewhere that the Corsair 3500LLPro memory isn't really working smoothly with this mobo, even though(!!!) they were said to have been made for each other. Isn't that sad? Specifically made for each other, yet, they aren't too compatible with each other. Now, I'm not saying memory is 100% the culprit here. It just may be. If problem doesn't go away after you try a different PSU, memory may be the next item to isolate. Good luck and keep us posted.

Give us your system configuration and I'm sure one of us should be able to point you to the right direction.

help

got the new power supply and have the same problems, system keeps randomly rebooting. Tried a different graphics card, same problem. It even reboots during a windows xp install. So I started to play with the bios settings, set the ddr voltage to auto, and set the cpu voltage to 1.3v. This at least allowed me to get windows installed. On auto for the vcore, the bios says the cpu voltage is 1.4v.

What is the recommended voltage for the cpu and the ddr at stock speeds?

My cpu X2 4800
DDR 2x 1Gb corsair 3500ll

Thanks

Our systems are very similar. See sig.

No issues here.
Not using RAID.
Using the default windows IDE software for the burner
on Secondary Master (as someone else advised).
Enabled Parallell port though not needed (advice from another).
I didn't install the NAM/Firewall software from nVidia.
Passed on the Marvell LAN and use the nVidia LAN port.
Not using CoolNQuiet.
Everything run at stock/nothing over-clocked.

No issues with the RAM nor any spontaneous restart problems.

Running on the bios version it came with (1009)

System runs very fast, quiet and cool.

Thanks for the repley. I will try using the secondary ide master for the dvd, and I am using bios 1103, maybe I will try to go back to 1009. I also had to enable the parrallel port in order to get windows installed. My system is stable under linux and running memtest for over 10 hours, really stumped why it is not under windows. I installed the latest nvidia driver 84.21 and 6.65. I did use the ide drivers, so I will try without the nvidia ide drivers installed. I also got a couple of reboots during the windows install. I don't think it is heat issues, my cpu temp is 39c and mobo temp is 40c. I have tried almost everything I can think of.

Thanks

I recently finished building a new rig with the A8N32-SLI mobo...but when I look in the Device Manager there is something listed under "Other Devices" that says "Unknown Device"...clicking "Properties" for that item it says that the "Location" is on the PCI standard ISA bridge...and under "Device status" it says "The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)"...

anyone know what this device is and how to fix this?...somebody advised me that it could be because I did not install the Nvidia IDE driver that came with the nForce drivers...I chose to use the Windows IDE driver instead...also I was informed that it might be because I did not install the Marvell Yukon ethenet driver from the ASUS CD...I am using the Nvidia LAN so I did not feel it was necessary to install the Yukon driver...could any of these things be the problem?

anyone have any suggestions/help..Thanks

I had that issue on a couple of installs also. It turned out to be the AFIK (or something like that) thats usually under System Devices in device manager. But I had to download the AIBooster from ASUS and manually install the drivers. Hope this helps.

thanks for the help...I think you were right...

I was able to fix the issue...

someone on another forum told me to put the ASUS CD in the drive and wait for the popup...well I did just that and now everything is running normal again...apparently it's the AI Booster that was causing the issue

didn't even have to download/update any drivers...just put the CD in the drive and a few seconds later when I checked my Device Manager the "Unknown Device" listing was gone...

this mobo has so many little annoying quirks with it...but once everything is set up and working properly, it is an amazing board
