A few people are having problems with the 4.9, especially when used together with that new control center.
I'm going to play around with it a bit and find the most stable voltage setting. I fold 24/7 so the final test is not just games but if that program can run and not produce EARLY_UNIT_END errors.

Thanks for the suggestion I'm thinking about going back to 4.8.

the money is less of an issue. i have sold a lot of computers this year....right now my system is topped at 2.5. how do you think this compares to a fx-53 at 2.6.

usually it is easy to justify an upgrade. i don't benchmark, mainly work in CAD and play games sometimes. CAD software is power hungry though, more so then games it seems......A 60 component assembly can easily bring my system to its knees, even with my 6800 ultra...if i can get a 10% boost then it is worth it.

also, have you heard when the fx-55 will be released?

The FX55 will probably be released near the end of the year (November or December would be my guess). An FX53 @ 2.6GHz will give you plenty of power. I've never used CAD, so I don't know how an FX would fare.

I found a realy good game stability test "Invasion" fire up UT2004 and choose Invasion set it to at least skilled.

If your machine is still runing buy the end of the third wave, then your golden
Even with the best VC FPS will drop some, because of the flood of AI, takes a toal on your CPU/Memory

We'll have to get togather and play some ONS someday.

Bummer... Even though it can pass SuperPi at 227x11 it sure won't fold. 10 minutes into the work unit it did an EARLY_UNIT_END.

I think I'm going to bag it @ this point for good and just run it at stock. It can prime 8+ hours and never crash in folding so I'm certain it's 100% stable there. A shame I can't get anything extra out of this system but it's not for want of trying.

Blue, put me in your UT2K4 buddy list. I think I mentioned my handle.

Maybe I'll just get a 4000+ around christmas time and put this FX53 in another machine instead. Then we'll see if my CPU is the holdup or not. I don't have another CPU to try and newegg won't cross ship which sucks. I'm kinda stuck unless I want to be down for at least a week while I wait.

One more day with the Mach2, then I'll go pick up my VapoChill LS. The Mach has been fun. Hoping the LS will be the same, if not more fun.

The Mach2 was a loaner from a good friend. I'm paying $$$ for the LS. It's been tuned for optimum performance on the A64 platform and also has a special evaporator block.

Welcome back. Sorry, can't help you with the Adobe stuff. I found this link, however.

I'm still considering a Vapochill LS. Really looking forward to seeing your results SB and reading what you think about it overall.

Good luck. =)

Thanks. This LS has been modified to run colder. Will also be freezing the GPU for some 3DMark runs.

Yeah, I hope so. Target is 17K in 03. Not sure I'll make it, but I'll give it a try.
