Yes I can vouch for the Zalman 7000Cu, having been running one in my P4 rig, very quiet and very efficient.
Just ordered one to go on my forthcoming A64 and Asus A8V rev2.0 (so I am told ), thanks for the heads up Cromozone

Yes, I am looking for a new cooler. @ Load 2.333Ghz 1.6v I am running 63c. I would like to get to 2.5 ghz-- Which i will have to have better cooling.

I have been reading some reviews of the Zalman CNPS7000-Cu. There aren't too many reviews for A64 939 around.

Bad news, my A8V turned up, but came direct from one of our suppliers rather than our own warehouse, it isn't a Revision 2.00 as expected but rather 1.02 with the 1006 bios. Our own stock was definitely Rev 2, so I can swap out if required, but maybe I won't need to? How do you get the locks working with 1.02 boards?

Use beta BIOS 1005.021. Under one of the menu, you will see the option to set AGP/PCI Lock to AUTO, 66.67/33.xx, and something else. Choose the 66.67 instead of AUTO. From my experiences, if the board cannot handle this, it will fail on the next reboot. Otherwise, congratulate yourself. You just got a good A8V Rev1.02

File size is too large for me to upload. Either search this forum or PM me with your email and I'll send it to you right away.

Thanks H20Gun, flashed, and seems to POST with 66.66/33.33 set in bios at 200HTT. No windows on the system yet so can't check any further than that!

No problems. Enjoy your new board. It is still one of the best S939 board. And this is from someone who has done the full cycle of upgrades: Asus A8V Rev1.02, Gigabyte SK8NXNP, MSI K8N Neo2 and Asus A8V Rev2.00.

One question, in CPU Configuration, the Speed rating is only changing when I change the multiplier. So, set it to 9 x multi, 1800MHz is reported. But if I increase bus speed to 250MHz, it POSTs, but still says 1800MHz in the bios. Is that a bug, or is the board not actually increasing the bus speed?

I really did not notice that and I am currently running MSI K8N Neo2 so I can't be more helpful. Maybe you should ask Sierra since he is also using the same board as yours. Sorry!!

Noooooooooooooooo !!
Well I rang them this AM and specified that i wanted a rev2, the guy on the phone opened one and looked and confirmed it was rev2 in stock and said they all should be as the serial numbers were consecutive, and added a note to warehouse to ensure rev2 was shipped on my order.
The guy sounded genuine and all, I just hope it comes from them not the supplier direct.
Hope yours turns out OK Cromozone, and I hope after all this the one I get is rev 2.0 or I will not be a happy bunny

Just an aside, how come if you work for them, you didn't go and collect it, I woulda done just to be sure

I work from home. That's 500 miles away The reason I got one from our supplier and not from our own warehouse was for logistical reasons. I also bought a 3500+ CPU, which we didn't have at our warehouse, so both items came in the same box from our supplier (making it quicker and cheaper). I spoke to Ben about your board, it'll definitely be a Rev 2.00.

I hope so, Ben assured me, and I did labour the point to be certain
All the user reviews I found of Chillblast were very positive too, so lets hope so

A post on another forum supposedly from official sources says this, which doesn't sound promising, but may be only applicable to the American market ?

"1.2 will never have a release bios enabling locks. They say that over several days the use of the beta bioses that enable locks will eventually cause quality control problems.

2.0 - all new shipments to distributers and resellers from asus from today onward will be 2.0 boards. There will be different distributer SKU #'s but same basic model #. The new box has a whitish background instead of green. the new boards will not come with Wi-Fi cards. The same bios will be used for both 1.2 and 2.0, but only 2.0 will see the pcb revision and enable the locks options."
