| bottlenecked system? I can't help but feel that my computer is somehow being bottlenecked. I thought it would be running faster then it does. Is there someway to check that one of my parts are bottlenecking the speed?? An application which can check? I have an: X2 3800+ socket 939 Winfast PX6600 GT 128 MB GDDR3 TDH DFI Lan Party nForce4 Ultra-D motherboard OCZ DDR 1GB PC-3200 Dual Channel Gold C2 2-3-3-6 Seagate Barracuda 250 GB 7200 rpm 8MB OCZ power stream 520 W psu Maybe my expectations were just high. |

| You could try running a few different benchmarks and comparing to similar systems. If you're not very close than perhaps something is not set up right or needs a driver update. Some of the sisoft sandra stuff has comparisons built in, but the right benchmark to run would depend on the symptoms you are seeing. I don't know of anything that just scans a system and says what the slow-down is, but I think you can figure it out with some old-fashioned sleuthing. What sort of things seem slow? If you're running Windows, is it a new clean install? Is it possible some malware snuck in that's slowing you down? That hardware should be pretty quick, but I usually find that the software is the real problem.
