| DFI Lanparty Ultra-D Onboard LAN problem Hi I have a problem with my DFI LAnparty Ultra-D onboard LAN. its the Vitesse VSC8201 chip thats integrated on the board. It works sometimes but randomly disconnects and sometimes i cant get it to work at all. I dont know if its a faulty board or if its a known problem on this chip. I have tried the new Nvidia drivers, changed BIOS settings, changed the settings in Nvlan app but no good. My other onboard LAN NIC Marvel Yukon works fine but i want to use the Nvlan as its PCI express and the marvel is PCI. Please help.

Try this: Make sure Hibernation is off in your computer's power settings...... Make sure you are NOT using NAM and the Nvidia Firewall----hardly necessay especially if you are behind a router and using decent AV software..... Go to device manager and uninstall the nvidia NIC Shut down------pull power cord----let sit for 10 minutes Reboot into Bios----make sure that SATA #3 and SATA #4 ports are disabled Boot normally and it should find and reinstall the device. Hopefully that will solve the issue. Good luck------John PS----My Ultra D nVidia Nic works great-----but I have seen some test results that suggest the Marvell is actually the faster of the two......----even if it is PCI....

| Called my internet provider today and the problem was that it showed 2 simular mac adresses in the same network. As i live in Sweden and it should not be to many Vitesse NICs here compared to other countrys its quite strange that there are 2 bords with the same MAC adresses. Anyways the suport guy was very helpfull and solved it just by telling me to change the Mac adress manually to a free adress. Setting the adress manually is a solution but i just wonder if there is another user that will have the same problem now that i have a manual MAC adress
