This was posted in the News section, but Anandtech tested OCX PC4000 VX Gold with the SLI-DR. They were able to hit DDR533 with 2-2-2-6 timings. Link

Got my system bench stable at around 3.4GHz. If I turned on the A/C on a cold morning, I might be able to do 3.45GHz.

Impressed!

Just got my ultra-d and bfg 6800gt set up last night.270 FSB with xms3200c2
@ 3volts.I"ve never come close to that on my previous 2 boards(p4c800e-250 tops and A8V-245 tops)Also whats nice is it always seems to recover when pushed too far.Using the bios that came with the board 1.25.Was wondering if there are better bioses since this release.

Why 105 on PCI-E clock Sierra? Mines @ 100, does 105 make a difference?

I think it's just the safe o/c of it on ati's. They suggest something like 102 03 103 for Nvidia cards. Maybe it just gives a little extra performance boost.

3.5v. With 3.6-3.7v, he probably could have done DDR540. But the PC3200 Gold can do the same, so I'm not sure there's any big advantage using PC4000.

A little, well way off topic, but look what's coming in May. Seagate 200gig, sata2 300, 10,000 rpm drives. Now we are talking speed. Imagine a raid setup with two of those babies. droool...

Probably expensive too. Also, I've lost two SATA drives already and a third one may be on its last legs. Cheap IDE drives are good enough for me. I'd rather save my money for R520 and FX-57. I think R520 will be a screamer.

I wonder how the fx57 will be compared to my 3gig water 55? The most recent 55's haven't been so great I understand.

Angry Lose Display

Alright.... Still having my problem of getting no display after I turn the monitor off and leave computer running and turn monitor on again later. Everything is running at default and using 67.66 drivers for 6800 GT. BIOS 217. One thing that has changed is that I don't have to clear the CMOS to get my display back. Just have to power down and power up. This is really annoying me.

Computer specs:

DFI nF4 Ultra-D
Athlon64 3000+
(2)512MB Ballistix PC3200 2-2-2-8 (DIMM Slots 2&4)
eVGA GeForce 6800 GT PCI-E
WD Raptor 74GB
Plextor PX-716SA
OCZ Powerstream 520
Microsoft USB Mouse
Microsoft PS/2 Keyboard
Dell 2001FP

The board is gradually getting better for me. I still feel as if my particular Ultra-D is not as fast as my Neo2 but things are improving. My X850 is getting better too Did some more 05 and 03 tonight and will tackle 01 again this weekend...
