Noticed this this little bit 2005 first half Athlon 64 FX (San Diego) 90nm, SOI. And here the 4200+ is more than rumor http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/dis...308013109.html

| Good find, Blue. There's also an Inquirer story about the 4200+. It has a link to an XS thread, which is why that forum has gotten enormous traffic over the past few days. |

| New personal best in Pifast using VX. These sticks are definitely faster than my BH-5. The key is bank interleaving. With interleaving turned off, the VX is only marginally faster. But with bank interleaving enabled, there's about a two-tenths of a second difference in SuperPi. |

| Pifast and the new version of SuperPi are both good tools for seeing how timing changes affect speed. I have the VX running at 3.5v instead of 3.6v. System stability is a little better. ![]() ![]() |

| VX is pretty good. I would get the PC3200 version. The PC4000 VX is very expensive and the early results have been a little disappointing. VX needs at least 3.2-3.3v to do well. 3.4-3.5v is better. The memory is rated at 2-3-3-8 at DDR400. But you can tighten the timings to 2-2-2-5 with higher voltage. What is your Crucial rated at? A lot of RAM with high DDR ratings can't run at Cas 2 when overclocked. |

| sh-t, i think i just killed my fx-55. bummer, forgot to change the multiplier from 12x to 11x so it booted at 3100. didn't think that that could kill a proc, thought it just wouldn't boot. now i get freakin' nothing....bummer. i'm gonna try to fire it up in my neo2 to double check...but it don't look good as of now..how is amd's rma policy?

| You probly just locked the board or something. Never heard of something like that killing a chip. Pull the 20 and the 4 pin molex's from the board and clear CMOS for about 5 mins, maybe even pull the boards battery at the same time.

| 217 & 218 are good. I'm using 217. I think Blue and xgman are using 218 and they both have TCCD memory. Both BIOS files can be found in the first post of this thread. |

| Depending on the CPU speed that could be excellent bandwidth for 285. |
